       Our Ft. Myers Club

Zonta Club of Ft. Myers was charted February 1974. We are part of District 11, Area 6,
club # 748 of Zonta International.

The Zonta Club of Fort Myers  has been advancing the status of women

for over 35 years through fundraising and hands-on projects.

Zonta recognizes the role that women have in society, their family and

the community. The Zonta goal of advancing the status of women effects

the betterment of individuals, families, and nations.


In addition to supporting local and international projects, the Fort Myers

Club advocates human rights and addresses women’s issues with a

 focus on health, education, literacy, and the environment.


Thank you to everyone who has supported us in our fund-raising efforts.

Since our charter, we have raised well over $240,000 for charities. Our

fund raisers are what make it possible for us to provide wonderful

community service and effect the status of women worldwide!



Our Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meeting is held at the Hilton Garden Inn off of University Dr and Summerlin Dr.

We meet on Third Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm. Prior to our meeting we have social time and dinner. The cost is $20.00 per plate. Dinner reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Please contact Marietta Meacham at 239-481-7400 during business hours or email to Marietta@mcscpa.net.

PRESIDENT’S LETTER

 

 

                       

Dear Zontians,

 

 

We have had a world wind last fiscal year and we have made great strides.  We’ve had three Fundraisers with a great Zonta Yard Sale in November and two fun filled Theatre Nights.   Our Service projects have included volunteering with Raffle Tickets for Habitat for Humanity’s Play House, sponsoring a neighborhood session of “Crowning our Daughters”, working in the “Eat Street” for Heart Walk, Walking and Volunteering for the Susan G. Kolman “Walk for the Cure”, Birthday Baskets for the Mothers at Our Mother’s Home and a donation for art supplies for the Grace Project promoting awareness of Human Trafficking to name a few.

 

 We also have a great new Website and Social Networking set up with a link to our Calendar so everyone can easily stay up to date with all activities. In addition, we also have a MSN site to gather and maintain documents and information.   This took many many hours of dedication and hard work and we are very thankful to have the talents of Susan Carroll.

 

We hosted the Intercity Dinner in January.  We finished March off with a promotion of Zonta Club of Fort Myers at the 2010 Business Trade Show making and following up on prospective members.  This all took lots of committee coordination and a great deal of teamwork to pull off so effectively!!  The amazing part is that we accomplished giving our time and talents to improve the status of women while still maintaining our own lives, families and professions.

 

But this is just the beginning of great things to come this year.  Just think of all the wonderful projects coming up.  We have several more Fund Raisers in the planning stage and interesting Service Projects coming up.  In May we will welcome in our new Officers who will start our new year off in June as well as some new Members!!  This is going to be a great year because together, we can move mountains and make it happen.
